"Located on Saturna Island (British Columbia, Canada), his office serves as the central hub for his work. While based here, his focus is to serve the communities of the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. However, He also extends his services beyond this region, actively pursuing opportunities across Canada and internationally.

When collaborating with international clients, we start with a remote consultation to understand the project's scope.

After outlining the design and proposing an implementation plan, we're on-site at key points during the project.

Andrew's practice guides projects from their initial concept to successful completion. Committed to flexibility, we welcome projects of all scales, complexities, and sectors.

After working for 11 years at an internationally operating Landscape Architecture studio in The Netherlands, Andrew van Egmond decided to fully commit to his own design studio. He won a LILA award in 2020 and was part of the jury of this international Landscape Architecture Award in 2021. While working on different projects in Europe, ranging from small to large-scale landscape architecture projects and collaborating with various parties, he decided to utilize his dual (Dutch/Canadian) citizenship and move to British Columbia, Canada, in 2016.

Most of Andrew’s projects are in Canada these days, but he also works on projects in Europe. Working on two continents brings him inspiration, new insights, and conceptual ideas.

Andrew is known for his subtle and minimalistic landscape architecture. With his experience and award-winning approach, he works to strengthen the sense of place by connecting it with the underlying landscape. Andrew’s landscape architecture explores the contrast between the natural landscape and contemporary architecture, striving for a balance between the spontaneous expression of nature and minimal-modern architectural interventions, resulting in comforting, inviting and often contemplative outdoor spaces.

Andrew’s recent projects in Canada and The Netherlands represent his continuing quest to work more and more in collaboration with nature and the local landscape. He explores topics like circularity and climate adaptability and always tries to anchor the site in the larger landscape.

Most of all Andrew’s work is often unconventional and always context-driven.
